Mussolini’s Grave performed by Drew Croon

Drew began writing this piece while on a bike trip to Madrid to pick up the Contreras I concert flamenco guitar he had commissioned (pictured below), to visit his friend Tony in Santiago de Compostela, then on to Portugal, in July 1981. The piece was inspired by a Spanish woman named Elena he met on the trip who told him she wanted “to dance on Mussolini’s grave” before she died. He finished the piece years later at home in France, in 1990.

It is one of the handful of instrumentals he composed
